She recently expanded beyond healthcare to focus on other passions close to her heart, continuing her dedication to mission-driven organizations. Currently, she's strategic advisor and consultant to the CEO of a leading Asian American Pacific Islander (API) social justice organization. She also shares her skills and experience with a variety of organizations as an interim executive; she’s currently interim COO for the Jewish Family and Community Services East Bay. She’s also a member of “Moving the Needle”, a group of women leaders in the “Chief” networking organization working to amplify impact by bringing together collectives of leaders and resources around social change causes.
For the 20+ years prior, Dahni was a key leader in the growth and success of City of Hope, a top 10 national not-for-profit cancer research and treatment center. In her most recent role, she was Senior VP of Organizational Transformation, partnering with the CEO and Chief Transformation Officer to architect, develop and lead the organization’s first Office of Transformation, a formalized platform to facilitate success for this $5B (and 12,000 employee) healthcare leader. She pioneered an internal consulting function, including capabilities in change management, business methodology and discipline, operating model design, governance effectiveness, and portfolio and project management. Dahni built the Transformation function from the ground up and oversaw teams ranging from 30 to 300 (varied by project). As the department matured, Dahni acquired chief of staff functions for the CEO.
She also collaborated on the 5-year strategic plan that identified the top 10 priorities. She developed roadmaps for the priorities and advised C-level partners on holistic business perspectives, enterprise navigation, and cultural impact, to turn the strategic plan into results. She also led key aspects of the enterprise’s bold growth and acquisition strategy.
Dahni is a natural relationship builder. She cultivates new ones, nurtures existing ones and manages challenging ones, by leveraging her rapport building, excellent communication skills, and sophisticated political acumen.
Dahni is a culture champion, and partnered with the Chief HR Officer to create an environment that prioritizes and inspires people. She also co-designed the DEI program. She was the founding executive sponsor for the Women’s Professional Network (the largest employee resource group), and the longest-tenured ERG sponsor in the organization.
A “recovering attorney,” she began at City of Hope in 2001 in the Office of General Counsel, where she oversaw the department’s daily operations and was the Lead Labor & Employment counsel. As a result of her significant contributions as a senior leader in the organization, she earned multiple promotions, ultimately becoming the Senior VP of Organizational Transformation. Prior to City of Hope, she started her career at a law firm, rising to partner in an accelerated six years. She advised clients on a range of matters and represented them in mediations, arbitrations, and trials. \
Dahni earned her Bachelor of Arts in English with a Minor in Spanish (magna cum laude) from Wellesley College, followed by her Juris Doctorate from Yale Law School. Additionally, she is proficient in Spanish.
