With a social sector career spanning over two decades, David has worked in organizations in every capacity, from volunteer to executive director, giving him unique insight and experience in managing the tension between day-to-day priorities and strategic objectives of organizations.
Additional experience includes supporting youth and families in the following contexts: housing, mentoring, literacy, service learning, education, and juvenile justice. This coupled with a track record of developing meaningful relationships with school districts, private foundations, government officials, and nonprofit leaders allows him to seamlessly immerse and support organizations addressing critical community needs.
As part of his work with VLC, David has served in several interim executive capacities at organizations including the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, Foster America, Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund, Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center, Redwood City 2020, Silicon Valley Urban Debate League, and Communities In Schools (Northern California).
A first generation college graduate and classically trained pianist, David holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Business from the University of the Pacific and is a proud AmeriCorps alumnus. In addition to his work with VLC, David is an active community volunteer, world renowned vegetarian chef (self-proclaimed, of course) and dedicated husband and father to two children.
