Kate’s interest in the nonprofit sector was sparked when she began volunteering at a food bank as a teen. Today, she has more than two decades of experience in fundraising and communications in a variety of sectors including education, the environment, legal aid, youth development, and animal welfare. Kate’s fundraising career began with a Big Brothers Big Sisters agency in New Jersey.Later, she served as director of development with Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia and the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley.
Since 2017 Kate has been co-owner of a consultancy, guiding organizations on a variety of communications, development and marketing activities. She has helped dozens of nonprofits enhance and expand their fundraising programs, connect more deeply with donors and present their work in new and compelling ways.
She holds a master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership from the University ofPennsylvania, and a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Puget Sound.Kate is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).
In addition to her professional interests, Kate serves on the board of her local little league where she also coaches girls’ softball, and volunteers with Partners in AnimalWelfare, a nonprofit co-founded by her husband that provides free and low-cost veterinary care for the pets of people in underserved communities.
